Alejandro Berti explores the rhythms of both North and South America

Alejandro Berti, a finalist in the Thelonius Monk International Jazz Trumpet Competition 2014, will showcase his groundbreaking music and explore the original sounds of the Caribbean, fusing the melodies with Jazz, Swing, Straight-ahead and Modern. In creating this contemporary musical vision, he offers us both original rhythms found in Latin America’s musical culture, and a taste of where modern Jazz is heading. 


New York, july 20, 2015.-  On Tuesday, july 28th, 8pm at Subrosa (established by the owners of the Blue Note) the Venezuelan trumpeter, Alejandro Berti, adds to the astounding success of the musical movement The New Sounds of Venezuelan Music

Alejandro Berti, originally from Caracas and now established in New York,grew up in a family of musicians. He began his musical training in violin, but as a teenager he switched to the trumpet, which has remained the instrument to which he has dedicated his musical career.He uses the trumpet to communicate in a language rarely heard in the spectrum of music, migrating through the genres of Jazz, Funk,Salsa and Ska. In 2014, he emerged as a finalist at the Thelonius Monk International Jazz Competition, one of the most demanding musical competitions in the world, further solidifying his musical prestige here in New York City.
